EUCHARISTIC LITURGY: Our Mass schedule for the first semester is:
Monday 2:30 pm
Tuesday -Thursday 10:17 am
Friday 7:15 am and 3:15 pm (football mass)
FACULTY/STAFF PRAYER BREAKFAST: Each Thursday our faculty and staff gather for prayer before
school begins. Moms In Touch generously provide breakfast for our faculty throughout the year. If
you are able to assist by providing bagels, pastries, etc., please call Martha Hutson, our Coordinator at
704-364-5444. Monetary donations are also accepted to help defray costs. This has been a wonderful
way for our parents to express gratitude and support to our great faculty and staff.
MOMS IN TOUCH: We welcome all moms & adults to pray for our students, teachers, alumni and families
each Monday at 9:15 am in the Chapel. It is a wonderful way to support our school community!
FEAST OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION: We will be celebrating this holy day for Mary on Friday,
December 8, 2006 in the school gymnasium at 10:45 am with an Eucharistic Liturgy. Parents and guests
are invited to attend.
THANK YOU JUNIOR PARENTS: For hosting a wonderful dinner for our Seniors and their families which
followed their class Mass. It was a great way to kick off our retreat!
THANK YOU SENIOR PARENTS: For helping in so many ways from preparations to chaperones. We
couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for your support and assistance.
CHRISTMAS FAMILIES: Throughout the month, homerooms will be collecting gift items for the Catholic
Social Service families we sponsor during Christmas. Your help and generosity is greatly appreciated!
THE POOREST OF THE POOR: The Missionaries of Charity are looking for donations for the holidays for the
families they serve. If you have any religious articles on the Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Guadalupe ,
Fatima or Lourdes, please send them to Campus Ministry. Also, there are some families in need of
sweaters, gloves, socks, etc. for the winter.(mens and ladies). Please send only new articles.
HOST FAMILIES NEEDED: The Notre Dame Choir will be offering a concert on January 11 at St. Matthew
Church at 7:30 pm. The concert is to raise monies for the school in the Gulf Coast that were damaged by
Katrina. The concert is free and donations accepted at the concert. The choir is in need of families to stay
with on the night of Thursday, January 11. If you are able to host one or more students, please contact

SITTERS AVAILABLE: Some of the Faculty & Staff at CCHS are available for house, child or pet sitting

SERVICE HOURS: Campus Ministry and Religion Classes will be posting current projects available for
students throughout the year. Students are strongly encouraged to complete their required hours early
in the semester when projects are more readily available. For more information on projects offered, please

UPCOMING PROJECTS:
MITEY RIDERS: This wonderful program provides therapeutic horseback riding for handicapped children in
our community. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Duties include side walking riders, leading
horses, stable maintenance, shed maintenance and grooming & tacking. You will be trained for services

ALLEGRO FOUNDATION: Volunteers are needed to help with disabled children. Hours are flexible. This
wonderful organization is located behind Trinity Church on Providence Road. Please call Rachel Cain

CHARLOTTE RESCUE MISSION - DARE TO SHARE FOOD DRIVE: Muscle is needed here to load
canned goods into trucks at the Cricket Arena for the Rescue Mission on Saturday, November 4, 2006
from 5:00-8:00 pm. Sign up in Campus Ministry or Religion classes!
ST. MATTHEW CRAFT FAIR: Elves, greeters and runners are needed for this fun day at St. Matthew Parish
Center on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Shifts are available. Call Marjorie Dury at 704-846-6962 to
sign up.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: St.Gabriel School is looking for volunteers to assist on December 2,
from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. Please call Christine Roper at 704-844-0560 to assist.
BLACK LION ANGEL TREE FOR SALVATION ARMY: Assistance is needed to help with the
angel tree from 12:00 noon - 7:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays from December 2 through
December 18, 2006. Call Colleen at 704-541-1148 to volunteer. You must indicate time you
will work when signing up.
ST.GABRIEL PICTORIAL DIRECTORY: Lots of help is needed during this event. Dates are
Wednesday through Saturday, December 6-9 or Tuesday through Saturday, December 9-13.
