CCHS HISTORY AND FACTS

Throughout the history of Charlotte Catholic, there has been plenty of history that people will remember forever. The school is a great place to learn and practice your faith. Here are some facts why Charlotte Catholic is the best Catholic school in Mecklenburg County:
The school first opened in 1955
The first recorded principal in a yearbook is Sister Columba in 1958. There are no records of principals before her
Some of the past principal's include Richard Duffy, Sister Roseland, Sister Paulette, and Father Jim
Mr. Healy is currently principal at CCHS
The school was previously located on Park Road, in the campus now called Holy Trinity Middle School
Mr. Didonato has been a teacher here for the longest time, going on 34 years.
At one point, the school was not co-ed. The girls were located at the St. Patrick's campus and moved here during the 1968-1969 school year
The brothers left after the 1969 school year and then the Sisters of Mercy nuns were the only teachers at CCHS
About 100 new students have come to CCHS in the 2005-2006 school year
In all, we have 38 North Carolina High School Sports Association State Championships
