Sophomore Summer Read Assignment--Study Questions for The Book Thief

2.      Brief summary of the novel (100 words)

3.      Theme (Main idea or statement about life) (one to two sentences)

4.      Personal Reaction (three to five sentences)

5.      Describe one memorable scene from the novel and explain what made it memorable for you. (three to five sentences)

6.      What is the significance of colors in the novel?  Give examples. (five to seven sentences)

7.      List the titles of the stolen books in the order in which they are stolen.

8.      In the novel there are many instances of courage.  Choose one that best illustrates courage and explain.  Please cite the page number. (three to five sentences)

Remember, all work must be typed, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font and must include an MLA format for heading and header.  You must pledge your honor.
