SERVICE

SERVICE HOURS:

Students are required to complete 10 service hours per semester.  Freshmen begin 2nd semester.  Students are asked to return to their parishes to complete 5 of those hours as follows:

Seniors                     First quarter

Juniors                      Second quarter

Sophomores             Third quarter

Freshmen                  Fourth quarter

The schedule is separated by grade level to prevent an influx of calls to the parishes by all students at the same time.

Students are encouraged to complete their service requirements over the summer or during school breaks so it does not interfere with their school work.

After each service project, students are asked to complete a reflection form.  Students will receive these through their religion teachers each semester.

SERVICE PROJECTS:

CCHS receives many requests for volunteers throughout the school year.  Parishes and community agencies may contact Campus Ministry Assistant, Joanne Torres x 3193

for more information or you may download the service project form    (Click for form)

and fax to Joanne Torres at 704-543-1217.

Service Projects are posted throughout Religion Classes, on the Campus Ministry bulletin board and published in the monthly newsletter for parents.  CCHS works with many seasonal projects such as Camp Soar (Special Olympics athletic retreat) and Heart

work camp ( a catholic mission week repairing homes throughout the Charlotte area) in the summer and providing Christmas presents and food to Catholic Social Service families

in need.
