FRESHMEN:    In September of the new school year, Freshmen gather for two weekends (boys and girls

respectfully) for an overnight lock-in which is planned and implemented by our Senior

Retreat Team.  The theme for this retreat is “A New Horizon” which includes games, talks

and small group discussion and movies help to prepare the Freshmen for life in high school.

Guest speakers vary and a questions/answer panel, pizza at midnight and some very

fun games are just a few of the highlights of this retreat.  Senior Retreat Team plan and

execute  this retreat for younger peers.

SOPHOMORES:   Based on the Jeremiah Scripture , “I am the Potter, You are the Clay: the

Shaping  of My Life,” and in conjunction with their Sophomore Religion curriculum on morality,

students discover how choices they make,  unexpected events in life and all people

(friends, family and others), help to mold and shape their lives.

Athletic Director Kevin Christmas is our guest speaker along with skills that teach

students to decrease stress and appreciate the differences of one another.  Students are split

into two days for this retreat by religion classes.  Our Senior Retreat Team

plan and implement this retreat for their younger peers.

JUNIORS:     TBA

SENIORS:   The theme for this two-day retreat (which is usually held on the Monday & Tuesday before

Thanksgiving) is “Journey Into The Heart.”   It is a high point for Senior year as it helps

students reflect on the past three years and plan ahead for the future.

Nationally known Apex Ministry are our guest speakers and Faculty and Alumni serve as

team members for the small group activities, discussions and games that take place. Highlights of

this retreat include a special reconciliation prayer service and the small group of Seniors that mix

and mingle.

KAIROS:   We are very excited about our “optional” retreat for our Juniors and Seniors who wish to

enhance their spiritual life. Kairos (which means “In God’s Time”) is a three-day retreat which is

quite popular in many other high schools across the country. We are fortunate to offer this retreat

and have a great team of previous Kairos participants to assist!

Three dates are set at the beginning of each year so students may attend without

interference with sports, musicals, etc. Cost for students is minimal at $80.00 to assist with food,

supplies and lodging.  Since we are limited on this retreat, participants will be accepted on a first

come-first serve basis, students may sign-up at the Campus Ministry office. Once they have

attended a Kairos, students may become eligible to serve as team members for future Kairos

retreats. Call Campus Ministry for more information.

RETREAT TEAM: 2nd semester Juniors are eligible to serve as Retreat Team for the next school

year.  Applications are distributed at a special presentation to Juniors during Religion

classes.  Recommendations and interviews with current retreat team are also required.
