Congratulations to Eric Hogue who has qualified for the State Wrestling Tournament by placing 2nd at the 140 lb weight class. Good Luck Eric!

Results:

Michael Bruno (125 lb) and Eric Hogue (145 lb) each won 2nd place in their weight division at the Halloween Havoc Wrestling Tournament at Davie County High School.

CCHS wrestling at the Glenn Invitational - Eric Hogue – 140 lb class – 1st place, Michael Bruno – 119 lb class – 3rd place, Zack Preister – 130 lb class and Andrew Grant 125 lb class – tied 3rd place, Daniel Perrine – 152 lb class – 4th place

Monroe HS Red Hawk Invitational Wrestling Tournament - 12 schools competed and CCHS had 6 wrestlers medaled. Michael Bruno - 119lb - 1st Place, Andrew Grant - 125lb - 3rd Place, Zack Priester - 130lb - 2nd Place, Eric Hogue - 140lb - 1st Place, Daniel Perrine - 152lb - 1st Place, Graham Forman - 215lb - 3rd Place - CCHS also took 4th place as a Team with only 6 wrestlers.

Trinity Invitational Wrestling Tournament Dec 8 - Zack Priester 130 lb. Class - 3rd Place,  Michael Bruno 119lb. Class - 3rd Place, Brennan Manion 145 lb Class - 2nd Place, Eric Hogue 140 lb Class - 1st Place

CCHS Wrestling team took 1st Place at the 17th annual Al Kessie - Mecklenburg County Wrestling Tournament at Olympic HS. Charlotte Catholic led a field of 15 Mecklenburg County area teams the entire day beginning in the first round by winning their first 10 match by pin.  Eric Hogue 140lb - 1st place - Andrew Grant 125lb - 2nd Place - Michael Bruno 119lb, Zack Priester 130lb, Daniel Perrine 152lb, and Jeff Levasseur 189lb - 3rd place. This was the first time CCHS has won the Meck. County Tournament

CCHS Cougar Wrestling hosted the Cougar Invitational. The wrestling team took 3rd Place overall and had 8 wrestlers medal. The following wrestlers placed in the medal rounds: 1st Place – 140 Eric Hogue, 145 Evan Peleaux, 189 Jeff Levasseur, 2nd Place - 215 Graham Foreman, and 3rd place finisher - 119 Michael Bruno, 125 Andrew Grant, 130 Zach Priester, and 152 Daniel Perrine.  Eric Hogue – Selected Most Valuable Wrestler – Cougar Invitational

 

The Cougars are the Queen City Conference Team Wrestling Champions with a 6-0 conference record!

 

Congratulations to CCHS Wrestlers   Charlotte Catholic Cougars wrestlers went undefeated in the Queen City 3A/4A conference and then won the conference tournament Saturday at Waddell High School. The cougars medaled in 10 weight classes with three 1st place finishers, Michael Bruno - 119 lb. Zack Priester - 130 lb. and Eric Hogue at 140 lb., four 2nd places going to Andrew Grant - 125 lb., Evan Peleaux - 145 lb., Daniel Perrine - 152 lb., and Adam Sachee - 160 lb. and three 3rd place finishes with Kevin McCaffrey - 112 lb., Brandon Shell - 171 lb. and Jeff Levasseur at 189 lb.

Catholic head coach Steve Wyniemko was voted Queen City Coach of the Year.
