CCHS JV Girls Soccer 2007-2008

Your Lady JV Cougars opened the season with a commanding 5-0 WIN over the Lady Bucs of Country Day. After 10 minutes of constant pressure on the Bucs, ... a loose ball was won out front, then centered to the box where it was put away by extra effort from an attacking forward. This got the Cougars excited as they scored their first inaugural goal as "A Team" to open the 2007 season. The midfield continued to dominate showing presence and balance, distributing the ball well or sending it back into the mix. Our second goal came about on a redirect of a 50-50 ball on top of the box as the pressure continued. The cougars went on to net another by half on a great centering effort and finish, to have a commanding lead of 3-0 at the half mark.

Although CCDS made some impressive adjustments for the second half which increased their pressure, our defenders were not to be denied and continued to show dominance, finding middys wide or long balls away....and we were off to the races. Our goal keeping was sterling all day and all that entered were able to turn in a "clean sheet" as we blanked the Bucs. Your cougars went on to finish the day netting 2 more the second half for the final score of 5-0 !

Special congrats to Coach Laurie & Minton who were filling in for Coach Oscar who was delayed with another game. Congrats to our freshman scorers for the day, Adrian Modizik, Shannon Hogan, Lizzie Henshaw (who netted 2)! Just off the hoops court, your sophomore Amber Deschenes, scored a well earned breakaway, brilliant pace and a smooth finish. Credited with our shutout was starter Keenan Langley, with solid contrbutions from Maggie Riney and Julianna Focht. The entire team should be congratulated for the sound start, teamwork, and a brilliant performance from all. Go Lady Cougars!!
