Cougars lost 5-7. Unfortunately 3 errors led to 4 unearned runs! At bat, Ryan Werkmeister went 2 for 4, Jack Hartpence was 3 for 4, Dylan Workley hit a double and was 1 for 2, and consistent at bat, Charlie Fellers going 2 for 4 with a double. Pitching 5 innings was Chris Vercauteren and CJ Brodowicz came in to pitch final 2 innings with no runs scored. Tuesday, March 11 - Cougars vs Olympic - Cougars continue winning streak to beat Olympic Trojans 11-1.Freshman, Collin Manning lead hitting going 2 for 2 and Sophomore Ryan Weise was 2 for 4. Only 8 hits in the game but Cougars took advantage of errors and walks to take the win. Daniel Stewart was the winning pitcher. Weds., March 5, 2008 - Cougars continued their winning streak beating Country Day, 9-2.Freshmen led the hitting with Charlie Fellers going 2 for 4. Jack Hartpence, Austin White and Gerald Rimmer all hitting 2 RBI's in a 6 run in 7th inning to break away and insure the Cougars win! Sophomore, Ryan Weise pitched 4 innings with no runs scored and Jack Hartpence came in as winning relief pitcher. Friday, February 29th - 2008 JV Baseball Team started their season off, Fri., Feb 29th, with a BIG win over Providence Day. Cougars won 12-2. Highlights include Freshmen, Kyle Arbuckle hitting a Double & 2 RBI's, Ryan Werkmeister and Josh Randall going 2 for 2 at bat. Sophomores, Gerald Rimmer went 2 for 3 at bat with 2 RBI's. Total of 12 hits for the team. Charlie Fellers was the winning pitcher and Mac Walker pitched 2 innings of hitless relief. Tues., March 18 - Cougars win over Olympic 15 - 1 with much ease. Cougars lead 8-0 just after 2 innings and assured the win with 7 runs in the 4th inning. Ryan Weise led a 12 hit attack with 3 hits including a triple. Kyle Arbuckle contributed with 2 hits. Charlie Fellers was the winning pitcher with 3 scoreless innings. Daniel Stewart pitched 2 innings of relief. Friday, March 28 - Cougars take a Road Trip on Spring Break to Roanoke, Va. playing 2 Exhibition games vs. Patrick Henry High School. The Cougars win first game 7-4. Ryan Werkmeister led hitting with 2 triples, Colin Manning had a triple and Jack Hartpence had a good day at bat with 2 hits. Second game of Double Header didn't fare as well for the Cougars. The Patriots won 6-3. Cougars went down early 6-0 but fought hard and came back with 3 runs. Not enough to take the win but a great attempt. All players got play time and fun was had by all....Thanks Coach Belk! Weds., April 2 - Winning streak continues with JV's beating Charlotte Latin 9-5. Cougars were down the entire game until they rallied back with 8 runs in bottom of 5th inning with 2 outs. Collin Manning led the hitting with 3 hits including a triple, Jack Hartpence, Gerald Rimmer, Kyle Arbuckle and Ryan Weise contributed with 2 hits each. Ryan Werkmesiter drove in 3 runs and Arbuckle & Manning had 2 RBI's. Charlie Fellers was the winning pitcher with Jack Hartpence coming in as relief pitcher. Another hard fight and great win! Weds., April 2, 2008 - CCHS vs Charlotte Latin - Cougars win 11-0. Freshman, Daniel Stewart pitched entire game and was only 2 hits away from a NO HITTER going into 7th inning. Freshman also led the way in hits with Josh Randall, Ryan Werkmeister, and Collin Manning going 2 for 3. Thurs., April 10, 2008 - CCHS vs Providence Day - Cougars win 11-3. Sophomore, Mack Walker, pitched 5 innings with Ryan Wiese coming in to pitch the remaining 2 innings. Ryan Wiese was 2 for 3 at bat with 1 double, and Charlie Fellers was also 2 for 3 at bat with 1 double. Weds.,
April 16, 2008 - CCHS vs West Meck
- Cougars win 10-8. Another good day at bat for the Cougars.
Fri., April 25, 2008 - Cougars vs Olympic - Cougars win 3-1. Freshman, Dylan Workley went 2 for 3 at bat with a double. Sophomore, Ryan Wiese, pitched 5 innings with only 1 hit and Sophomore, Mac Walker, pitched the remaining 2 innings for the Save.
Thurs., May 1, 2008 - Cougars vs South Meck
- Cougars win the much anticipated game against the
Sabres, 4-2. Cougars rally from a 2 run deficit with the
help of lead hitters, Ryan Wiese, who
was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and Gerald Rimmer's
hit in bottom of 6th inning. Freshman, Daniel
Stewart, pitched 6 innings with only 6 hits, 6
strike outs and only 1 Earned Run! Sophomore,
Mac Walker, pitched the 7th inning for the
Save.
Friday, May 2, 2008 - Cougars vs. West Meck -
Cougars win 12 - 1. Game ended after 5 innings due to 10
run rule. Runs scored with help of Sophomores, Ryan
Wiese who was 3 for 4, Brandon Shell who was
2- for 3 and Mack Walker going 2 for 4 with 2
RBI's. Charlie Fellers was the winning pitcher
with 4 strike outs and 1 Earned Run. Monday, May 5, 2008 -
Rematch - Cougars vs West Meck - Cougars win again
13-3. All team members contributed in this last game of
the season. Best hitting performance all season!
Gerald Rimmer -3 for 3, Kyle Arbuckle - 1 for
4 with a Double, Josh Randall - 2 for 4, Chris
Vercauteren - 1 for 4, Daniel Stewart - 1 for
1 with a Double, Michael Sardo - 1 for 1 with a
Double, Matt Gauch - 1 for 1, CJ Brodowicz
- 1 for 3, Charlie Fellers - 1 for 4, Jack
Hartpence 1 for 3 and Austin White - 1 for 3.
Winning Pitcher, Ryan Wiese pitched 4 innings and
Mack Walker finished the game for the Save. We'll miss Sophomores,
Brandon Shell, Mack Walker, Gerald Rimmer, and Ryan
Wiese next year. All players and parents
would like to thank Coach Glossner and Coach Christmas
for their dedication and commitment in guiding the
Cougar's JV Baseball Team to a successful 2008
